About Me

I have found writing to be a space that allows me to express myself and connect with the world around me. Over the years, my experiences through my journey of becoming have shaped my channels of creativity. Some of these are poems, meditations, and children's books. I'm an unpublished writer, and I've recently begun submitting my work to publishing companies, but I hope to share the little treasures I have with you through this page.

My Why

Writing poem or verse is my most authentic and honest form of communication. It's a space where I explore the themes I'm emotionally invested in without fear or favour.

Meditation has been a tool that has allowed me to understand my inner self and find the ability to flourish; exploring children's books has opened my mind to creating spaces for children to feel joy whilst learning who they are.

McNoo McNee Beginnings

During my ten years in early childhood education, I found that charismatic, funny lead characters resonate. Writing learning stories and poem shaped how I write for children: rhythm equals engagement, joy, and memorable text.

In McNoo McNee, shorter than you and shorter than me, I introduce you to a miniature dachshund with a tall personality.

Our wee doggie friend, McNoo McNee, has three further adventures already drafted and more in the pipeline.

McNoo McNee is a picture book for children aged 3 to 7 years.

We are introduced to a wee sausage dog, McNoo McNee, who is a fun-loving, cheeky, side-eyeing individual whose bravery is not related to his size. We meet a miniature dachshund with a tall personality who has an aversion to stairs. In engaging rhyming language, we understand what makes this cheeky, lovable wiener with the works tick.

We are reminded throughout the story, through rhythmic text, that McNoo McNee is ‘shorter than you and shorter than me’, and by the end of the book, children will feel invested in this lovable larrikin.

The last line reads:

" Sunshine in our eyes and love in our hearts, we knew we loved you right from the start."

My Learning Chapters

I believe that upgrading how we think upgrades our behaviour and emotional wellness, and lets our relationships with ourselves and others flourish. The benefits can be life-changing. They have been for me, and I'm forever grateful. Meditation has been a valuable tool in becoming self-aware.
